Hi, I’m Manesha.
I am a resident psychologist working towards licensure in the state of Oregon.
Has life been harder lately? Have you experienced an event that’s had lasting repercussions? Are you growing curious and want to learn more about yourself? Whatever prompted you to seek therapy, finding the right therapist is a deeply personal decision.
Therapy is a vulnerable process. My hope is that together we can create a secure environment for us to tackle even the most painful and discomforting topics. I encourage my clients to speak as openly and freely as possible, particularly about the concerns that brought them here. I listen attentively and with curiosity to what you share. With empathy and kindness, I offer reflections on what I am hearing and bring your attention to things that may be outside your awareness. I offer accountability and support while keeping your goals at the forefront of our work. If this sounds like what you are looking for, I hope to hear from you and get started on our journey together!
Philosophy of Care
My approach to therapy is relational and collaborative. I work to help clients understand how the complicated interactions between themselves, their environment, and important figures in their lives can unconsciously influence their behaviors and thoughts. Present problems are often the result of these dynamics. By dissecting early childhood experiences, I build a framework for understanding how clients interact with their world and themselves. The therapeutic relationship is my primary means of intervention. Using myself as a relational stand-in, my clients and I challenge unhelpful patterns and reactions in real time. Through exploring and understanding relational and emotional wounds, we come to a greater understanding of what is getting in the way of living the life my clients want.
Credentials
I graduated from George Fox University with a doctorate in clinical psychology. I am currently a doctoral resident in the state of Oregon working under the supervision of David Kays, PsyD.
